The Headteacher is absolutely delighted with this year’s GCSE results. The proportion of students that achieved 5 A* - C including English and Maths rose to 50% for the first time ever.

The proportion of students that achieved a C or above in both English and Maths has risen from 43% last year to 54% this year, with 70% of students getting A* - C in English and 61% in Maths.

78% of students made expected progress in English compared with a national figure last year of 69%. We are phenomenally proud that 50% of our students made more than expected progress , which is a staggering 20% above the national average.

69% of our students made expected progress in Maths, which is also above last year’s national figure of 66% and 30% made more than expected progress.

Under the new measure of Progress 8 (which measures student progress across their best 8 subjects) the school has achieved +0.1, which is significantly above the floor target of -0.5.

We are also delighted with the results achieved by our disadvantaged (Pupil Premium) students; for the students achieving a C or above in both English and Maths, the gap between them and their peers has closed by more than 20% to 13.5%.
