We value our school and wider community very highly and as a VI Form we annually pledge a day to support our local community with our ‘Community Day’.
On this day our students get out and into our wider community to contribute to, and help with, as many local projects as possible. The event offers the opportunity to contribute and give to others, but also an opportunity for their own personal growth. Whether they are supporting students in a primary school settings, contributing to the development of a Forest School or volunteering at food banks or charity donation centres; they get exposure to people and scenarios that broaden their awareness and understanding of the world around them.
Our students learn new skills in these situations and work collaboratively with their peers and other people of different ages and experiences.
