We are delighted to announce that Thomas Becket Catholic School has appointed a new Headteacher, Mr Paul McCahill, who will be joining us on 1st January 2022.
Currently Deputy Principal at a local Secondary School and 6th Form, Mr McCahill brings a wealth of experience and expertise in working across large multi academy trusts.
Mr McCahill knows the area very well having grown up in Northampton and has fond memories of his own experiences as a student at Thomas Becket Catholic School. As a member of the Northamptonshire Diocese, he is passionate about developing Catholic Education in Northampton.
“I am delighted and honoured to be appointed as the new Headteacher for Thomas Becket Catholic School and I am keen to get to know parents, as well as pupils and staff in my new role. The school has a strong tradition of providing a good Catholic Education and it is my mission to build on this further.
From my experience, I know that a successful and happy school depends on all of us working together. I am very much looking forward to finding out more about the school so that the changes we make in this new chapter are supported by the whole school community and parish.
Parents make an important contribution to children’s achievements at school, and one of my first priorities is to enhance the relationship between the school and parents for everyone’s benefit.
I will be holding several events over the next term, including drop-in sessions/meet and greets and I look forward to working closely with you to create a successful partnership.” (Paul McCahill)
Congratulations to Mr McCahill on his new appointment and a very warm welcome from us all at Thomas Becket Catholic School and the OLICAT Schools community. We would like to take the opportunity to thank Mrs Grimley for all her hard work and incredible support and leadership at our school during the interim period as Acting Headteacher.
