Year 7
Year 7 - Art
Foundation Unit - Focussing on building skills and exploring materials. Formal elements of drawing. Students are guided through this unit. Teacher-led activities allow and enable the students to carry out a unit that covers all assessment objectives.
Natural Forms Unit - Develop skills and exploring materials. Formal elements of drawing. Two- and three-dimensional drawing using pencil, coloured pencil, pen, inks and watercolour. Teacher-led activities allow and enable the students to carry out a unit that covers all assessment objectives.
Year 8
Man-Made Forms Unit - Continue to develop skills and exploring materials. Continue with the formal elements of drawing. Two- and three-dimensional drawing using pencil, coloured pencil, pen, inks, paint, oil pastels, soft pastels and watercolour. Develop knowledge of the colour wheel. Teacher-led activities allow and enable the students to carry out a unit that covers all assessment objectives.
Mechanical Forms Unit - Continue to develop skills and exploring materials. Continue with the formal elements of drawing. Two- and three-dimensional drawing using pencil, coloured pencil, pen, inks, paint, oil pastels, soft pastels and watercolour. Develop knowledge of Surrealism. Teacher led activities allow and enable the students to carry out a unit that covers all assessment objectives.
Year 9
Year 9 - Art
Natural Forms Unit - Refine skills and exploring materials. Refine the formal elements of drawing. Two- and three-dimensional drawing using pencil, coloured pencil, pen, inks, paint, oil pastels, soft pastels, textiles, photoshop and watercolour. Develop knowledge of textiles and sculpture. Teacher led activities allow and enable the students to carry out a unit that covers all assessment objectives.
Sea Unit - Refine skills and exploring materials. Refine the formal elements of drawing. Two- and three-dimensional drawing using pencil, coloured pencil, pen, inks, paint, oil pastels, soft pastels, textiles, photoshop and watercolour. Develop knowledge of photoshop. Teacher led activities allow and enable the students to carry out a unit that covers all assessment objectives.
Year 10
Year 10 - Art
Foundation Unit - Focussing on building skills and exploring materials. Formal elements of drawing. Students are guided through this unit. Teacher led activities allow and enable the students to carry out a unit that covers all assessment objectives.
Portraiture Unit - Refines skill learnt in previous unit and allows students to continue to develop independently towards the end. Additional practice working with different materials. Introduced to a key genre of art.
Year 10 - Photography
Foundation Unit - Focussing on building skills and exploring materials. Formal elements of drawing. Students are guided through this unit. Teacher led activities allow and enable the students to carry out a unit that covers all assessment objectives.
Documentary Unit -Refines skill learnt in unit one and allows students to develop use of Photoshop and work independently towards the end. Additional practice of taking photographs and editing. Introduced to a genre of photography.
Year 11
Year 11-Art
Year 11 Mock Exam Unit - Starting points given out 2nd week in September – students allowed 6-8 weeks to prepare. Examination to take place first couple of weeks in November.
Year 11 Exam Unit - Year 11 Examination paper given out. 6-8 Weeks to prepare then 10-hour examination.
Year 11 - Photography
